Hole In One Lawns installs paver patios, walkways, driveway extensions, pool decks and retaining walls across San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country, and we seal pavers with Hurricane CAT 5. Every project starts with a 3D design and a properly excavated, compacted base, because that base is what keeps pavers from shifting and walls from leaning on our clay and limestone soils.
Paver patios and walkways start at about $24 per square foot installed, and every paver and wall project carries our 2-year workmanship warranty.

Paver Sealing with Hurricane CAT 5
We seal pavers with Hurricane CAT 5 by Trident, a water-based, two-part urethane sealer with a wet-look finish. It locks the joint sand in place so it does not wash out in heavy Texas rain, deepens and enhances paver color, and protects the surface from UV fading, oil and food stains, water, and mold, moss and algae. Because it is breathable, it does not trap moisture under the surface.
We clean the pavers, let them dry, top up joint sand where needed, then apply the sealer. Sealing starts at $3 per square foot and can be added to a new patio or done on pavers you already have.
Retaining Wall Services
- Structural retaining walls: segmental block walls with drainage aggregate, drain pipe, geogrid where needed and compacted backfill to hold back soil on sloped lots. Taller walls are engineered.
- Terraced and tiered walls: turn a steep backyard into level, usable space.
- Seat walls and planter walls: built-in seating around patios and fire pits, and raised beds.
- Chop stone borders and low walls: natural chop stone set on a concrete footing with mortared joints, from $25 per linear foot.
How We Build It
- Design. We lay out the patio, walls, steps and drainage in 3D so you approve the look and size first.
- Excavate. We dig out to the depth the base and the load require, and haul off the spoils.
- Base and compaction. Crushed base is placed in lifts and compacted, with grade set so water drains away from your home.
- Drainage. French drains, catch basins or wall drains are added where the site needs them.
- Lay and cut. Pavers are laid to pattern, cut clean at the edges and locked with edge restraint.
- Joint sand and finish. Joints are filled with polymeric sand to resist weeds, ants and washout, then the area is cleaned.
- Seal (optional). Hurricane CAT 5 is applied for color, stain protection and joint stabilization.
- Walkthrough. We inspect every edge, step and joint with you before we call it done.

Why Pavers Work in San Antonio
- They flex instead of crack. Individual units move with our expansive clay soil, where poured slabs crack.
- They repair easily. A stained or damaged paver can be lifted and replaced; a slab cannot.
- They grip well around pools and on steps.
- Our guide on concrete vs brick pavers compares the options in more detail.
Warranty, Financing and Payment
- 2-year workmanship warranty on the hardscape we build: pavers, retaining walls, steps, borders, decks and pergolas.
- New irrigation: 1-year warranty on breaks and leaks (animal damage, storms and routine adjustments are not included).
- Financing: low monthly payment options through Lyon Financial, and 0% interest for 15 months through GreenSky, for qualified buyers.
- 10% off for military, veterans and first responders.
- Payment schedule: 10% down, 60% when the crew starts, 30% at completion. No surprise fees.
Pair It With
Water features, Outdoor kitchens and fire pits, pergolas, landscape lighting, turf and putting greens, and drainage. Most of our backyard transformations combine pavers with at least two of these, all planned in one 3D design.

Planning a Paver Patio in San Antonio
San Antonio’s expansive clay soil is the number one reason paver patios fail. Clay swells when it is wet and shrinks in drought, so a patio built on a thin base will heave, sink and separate within a few summers. Before we quote a patio, walkway or wall, we look at:
- Base depth and compaction. We excavate and build a compacted crushed-limestone base with a level bedding layer, so the surface stays flat through wet springs and dry Augusts.
- Drainage and slope. Every patio is pitched away from the house, and we tie in gutters or add drains where water collects. See our yard drainage solutions.
- Edge restraint. Concrete-set edges or chop stone borders keep pavers from creeping, especially on sloped Hill Country lots.
- Material and color. Concrete pavers, travertine and natural stone each handle heat differently. Lighter colors stay cooler for bare feet around pools.
- Joint sand and sealing. Polymeric sand and sealing help keep weeds and ants out and the color looking new.
- HOA approval. We provide the 3D renderings and plan drawings most HOA boards ask for.

Pavers, Retaining Walls & Sealing FAQ
How much does a paver patio cost in San Antonio?
Paver patios and walkways start at about $24 per square foot installed, and paver driveways at about $30 per square foot. Final price depends on size, paver, base depth, access, and any walls, steps or drainage. We give a line-item quote after a free assessment.
What warranty do you give on pavers and retaining walls?
Every paver, wall and hardscape project we build carries a 2-year workmanship warranty.
Do you seal pavers?
Yes. We seal new and existing pavers with Hurricane CAT 5, a water-based two-part urethane sealer that stabilizes joint sand, enhances color and protects against stains, UV and mold. Sealing starts at $3 per square foot.
How long does a paver patio last?
A properly installed paver patio can last decades. The base decides it, which is why we never shortcut excavation or compaction.
Do pavers need maintenance?
Very little. Sweep and rinse as needed, and top up joint sand every few years. Sealing keeps joints locked and colors rich for longer.
Do I need a permit for a retaining wall?
Some cities and HOAs require approval for walls above a certain height or near property lines. We check your city and HOA rules during design and prepare the submittal.
Can you fix pavers that have sunk?
Yes. We lift the affected area, rebuild and compact the base, and relay the pavers.
How long does installation take?
Most residential paver patios are installed in about one to two weeks once materials are on site. Larger projects with walls, steps or drainage take longer, and we give you a day-by-day schedule with your proposal.
